»PM Board

The German Project Management Board works out the syllabus and examination questions valid at the time and decides on accreditation applications of companies and individuals. At the moment, the board consists of nine members (see below). These people are all volunteering their work on the board and in the two panels (Examination Panel and Accreditation Panel). Each of them either already has experience on the Project Management Board of another country, is a specialist in the field of project management or has been working on an international standard for project management for a while.

Chairman of the Board is Dr. Jürgen Schmied.

Accreditation Process

The accreditation process includes a review of all aspects of the proposed course. This review assures the German Project Management Board that the training provider has the required abilities to teach the content of the iSQI syllabus. Beyond the course materials this also encompasses the learning environment.

The application for accreditation is processed by iSQI's offices. After receipt of the accreditation fee, the accreditation process will start.

First Step – form

The following materials must be delivered to the iSQI offices free of charge for a review of formal criteria:

  • four complete sets of course materials
  • completed cross-reference that indicates on which slides the various subject areas of the iSQI syllabus are covered (the cross reference is available on request from the iSQI offices at info@isqi.org)
  • list of IT-organizations that have already accredited the company
  • documentation of experience in providing trainings and on expertise in project management
  • references of the company
  • documents on the quality assurance of training in the company
  • information on the location where the trainings are conducted
  • information on the accommodation of participants

After careful revision of the first step by iSQI, your material is forwarded to the German Project Management Examination Panel, which examines the criteria in regards to content and eventually pronounces accreditation.

Second step – content

  • Are the subject areas fully covered in accordance to the iSQI syllabus? (basis is the iSQI syllabus valid at the time)
  • Are the subject areas given sufficient weight?
  • Are the subject areas given enough time?
  • Are there any practice exercises?
  • What kind of success controls are planned during the course?
  • Is the training logically structured?
  • Who is personally responsible for the quality of the course?
  • Is there backup training staff?
  • Are the trainers iSQI Certified Professionals for Project Management?

Content

It is not necessary to copy the order of topics from the syllabus; however, the topics need to be fully covered. Any topic from the syllabus must be dealt with in the course materials (slides). The keywords to every paragraph of the syllabus must be explicitly identified in the course materials.
