I am pleased to invite you to CONQUEST 2007 – the International Conference on Quality Engineering in Software Technology, CONQUEST 2007. It is a particular pleasure to celebrate the 10th anniversary with an ever increasing community of experts from industry and academia giving high priority to the quality of software-based systems and processes. It is likewise a pleasure to have CONQUEST the second time in Germany's capital region.
In 2007, CONQUEST will be held as a partner conference together with the EuroSPI² (European Systems & Software Process Improvement and Innovation) at the Hasso Plattner Institute and the University in Potsdam. Many international speakers and participants are involved in the CONQUEST 2007 program, giving you practical and research insights into current and topical aspects of quality engineering. This broad perspective will be presented by European, Asian and American speakers.
Our exhibition about recent methods, services and tools will include 20 national and international companies from the software quality field.
Out of 55 paper submissions from various countries, e.g. Japan, Austria, Bulgaria, Israel, India, Pakistan and the Netherlands, the CONQUEST program committee arranged an excellent conference program addressing a wide range of software quality topics including Quality Assurance for Embedded Systems, Web Service Quality or Software Code and Model Quality. This year's special emphasis will be given to quality aspects along business process engineering.
Altogether CONQUEST 2007 will once again set new standards: we extended the programme of tutorials, technical and industrial sessions with special tracks so as to address e.g. the ever-growing set of certification schemes around software quality and quality issues in embedded and in autonomic systems.
We are all pleased to welcome you at CONQUEST 2007 in Potsdam, Sept. 26 to Sept. 28.
Yours sincerely
Ina Schieferdecker

It is a great pleasure to welcome the Conquest 2007 at Hasso Plattner Institute at Potsdam.
The HPI in Potsdam is the only university-level institute in Germany offering study programs in "IT Systems Engineering". The HPI has no tuition fees and is financed entirely through private funds donated by its founder, Professor Hasso Plattner, who co-founded the software giant SAP and is currently chairman of its supervisory board. Professor Plattner is the most important private supporter of science in Germany and will contribute a total of more than 200 million Euro over 20 years to further promote this unique university-level training in IT Systems Engineering. Our teaching is designed to meet the needs of gifted young people who are looking for practise-oriented training as IT engineers rather than a "traditional" computer science program. We are engaged in top-notch academic research - also serving leading players in the business world. In September 2007 we will start the HPI School of Design Thinking at Potsdam, where development of new products will be taught as multi-disciplinary collaboration.
With all that Hasso Plattner Institute for IT Systems Engineering is the ideal place to run the Conquest International Conference on Quality Engineering in Software Technology.
We wish you a successful conference and a great time here at HPI!

Dear participants of the joint 2007 CONQUEST and EuroSPI2 conference,
Welcome to Potsdam; welcome to one of the most beautiful cities in Germany!
Last year, the final event of your conference was also held in our capital of the Land Brandenburg, so I believe I can safely assume you enjoyed yourselves here! We are very glad you decided to come back to Potsdam, a unique city that has so much to offer in terms of its landscape, cultural life and architectural beauty. Of course we are proud that this has been recognized and that our city has been selected as a World Heritage site. In this capital city of a German federal state, the past, present and future come together and create a very special atmosphere.
In particular, Potsdam is proud that institutions of science and research find the city to be an attractive location that can well compete with other cities all over the world. The work done by researchers and scientists in our city enjoys an excellent reputation all over the world. I believe we are proving, then, that the present can be merged with the historical past, creating a unique and creative field of tension for all concerned. This is where we can see Potsdam's strengths! We have talent, technology and tolerance to offer, in the city and in our state.
As the Minister-President of the Land of Brandenburg, the advancement of education, innovative research, and technology are particularly important to me, since these are the fields in which jobs are created and real progress can be witnessed. The Hasso Plattner Institute for Software Systems Engineering is one example of an institute of higher learning that meets the highest standards of excellence. The venue you have selected for your conference is a perfect choice!
I wish you all a successful and enjoyable conference. And if you can find the time in your schedule, please take a stroll through Potsdam. I promise it will be worth your while!
Yours truly,
