Frankfurt/Main, June 20, 2007: On Wednesday evening, the conference chair, Prof. Dr. Bernd Hindel, closed the first International SPICE Days after three very successful days. The SPICE community has shown great interest in the conference. More than 150 participants from 20 countries took part in more than 30 presentations and workshops. Within the closing session the conference chair provided an insight as well as an outsight of further development of the international standard ISO/IEC 15504.
The International SPICE Days 2007 in Frankfurt/Main have been organized by the International Software Quality Institute, the iNTACS e.v. (International Assessor Certification Scheme) and the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA).

ISO/IEC 15504 (SPICE), as an international standard, is practiced and applied worldwide, however, sometimes in different manner and scope. There are still varying interpretations of the base and generic practises defined in ISO/IEC 15504 part 5. An international standard is only of little value, when there is no consensus about a uniform understanding of the standard. Thus, a lot needs to be done to reach a homogeneous and consistent application and comprehension of the standard. It is vital to have a platform that allows and fosters discussions, experience exchange as well as consolidation on the development and management of SPICE in the future.
The International SPICE Days 2007 present an excellent opportunity to discuss the application and different interpretations of SPICE nowadays and in the future. The conference is taking place once a year – every year in a different country.
Become active and use your chance to learn more about the standard, discuss with colleagues from different industries and find out about the newest developments worldwide.
As the conference chair, I will be very pleased to welcome you at the International SPICE Days 2007 in Frankfurt/Main, Germany!

As the President of the International Assessor Certification Scheme, iNTACS e.V., I am proud to present the first International SPICE Days, co-organized by iNTACS and iSQI.
We bring together experts and practitioners from the industry and science with interested participants who want to deepen their knowledge about the international standard ISO/IEC 15504 (SPICE) and working practices of implementation.
The International SPICE Days 2007 provide a platform to the SPI community to present experience reports, to discuss the development of SPICE as well as to learn about the newest advancements.
iNTACS is an independent not-for-profit organisation for developing a homogeneous education and certification scheme of ISO/IEC 15504 assessors. Last year, in May 2006, the organisation was founded and is meanwhile operating on a worldwide basis. Just recently, iNTACS has agreed on cooperation with VDA-QMC, the Quality Management Centre of the Association of the Automotive Industry, to establish iNTACS as the qualification standard for ISO/IEC 15504 assessors in the automotive industry. Moreover, iNTACS is also addressing the medical, financial and aerospace industry and will advance its effort there.
Don't miss the International SPICE Days 2007, the leading industry driven SPICE event in the world.
See you in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, in June this year!
Yours sincerely
Peter Bölter
