Bernd Leukert, SAP (Germany)

Bernd Leukert is Senior Vice President of Quality Governance and Production at SAP, responsible for the quality strategy at SAP as well as final validation of all SAP products before release to customers. He also initiated the SAP Sigma initiative at SAP, which has led to an increase in efficiency at the company.

Bernd has worked at SAP for more than 12 years. He started as a Software Developer for the flexible planning component in SAP R/3. He then worked as a Project Lead on international customer development projects in the supply chain area. With the availability of SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) software, he was appointed to the role of Assistant to the SVP in supply chain management (SCM). In 1999, he assumed responsibility development for the areas of transportation planning and master data in SAP APO and was Release Manager for the entire SAP APO product. In 2001, Bernd took over the Installed Base Development (IBD) group in supply chain planning as a Vice President in General Business Unit SCM. In 2003, he became Vice President of Development Unit Supply Chain Planning including knowledge management within Development Area Supply Chain.

Bernd holds a master's degree in Business Administration, with an engineering and information technology focus, from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He also spent a year of his studies at Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland.

Paul Baker, Motorola (UK)

Paul Baker is Motorola's corporate portfolio manager for verification and validation technologies. He has been with Motorola since 1987 and has had different roles in both engineering and Motorola Research Labs. He is a co-author of the book "Model-Driven Testing Using the UML Testing Profile2 and has thirteen refereed publications in the field of software verification, test automation techniques, and model-driven engineering. He serves on a number Industrial Advisory Boards for UK universities and is proactive in developing collaborative research programs with both with European universities and other companies. He has also participated in the development of software and testing standards, such as Message Sequence Charts, TTCN-3, and the UML Testing Profile within ITU, ETSI, and OMG respectively. Before joining Motorola Paul has worked at Philips on testing technologies.

Paul Baker has an MSc in software engineering from the University of Oxford (UK). Paul currently holds 11 patents and is a Motorola Science Advisory Board Associate.

Bj Rollison, Microsoft (USA)

Bj Rollison is a Test Architect with Microsoft's Engineering Excellence group where he designs and develops technical training curriculum in testing methodologies and test automation. With more than 16 years of experience in the computer industry, Bj started his professional career at a small OEM company in Japan building custom solutions for small and medium sized businesses. In 1994 he joined the Windows 95 project focusing on the internationalization of the operating system. In 1996, Bj became a test manager in the Internet Client and Consumer Division responsible for shipping several client products and a web server. He moved to Microsoft's Internal Technical Training group in 1999 as the Director of Test Training planning and organizing training for more than 6000 Microsoft testers. Bj also teaches software testing courses at the University of Washington, sits on the advisory boards at the University of Washington and Lake Washington Technical College, and frequently presents at international software conferences.

Charles Petrie, Stanford University (USA)

Charles Petrie is a Senior Research Scientist working in the Stanford CS Logic Group and a Consulting Associate Professor with the Stanford Center for Design Research. His research topics are concurrent engineering, enterprise management, and collective work. Dr. Petrie was a Founding Member of Technical Staff of the MCC AI Lab, Founding Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Internet Computing, and Founding Executive Director of the Stanford Networking Research Center. He is the Founding Chair of the Semantic Web Services Challenge. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin.
