ASQF to host the International Assessor Certification Scheme

ASQF is to host the International Assessor Certification Scheme. The Scheme certifies competent assessors trained and qualified in the principles and practices of assessing processes using ISO/IEC 15504, the international standard for Process Assessment.

The International Assessor Certification Scheme complements ASQF’s portfolio of Certification Schemes that includes the ASQF-Certified-Tester, ASQF-Certified Project Manager, etc., and recognises and re-enforces ASQF’s status as an international certification body operating schemes for the certification of personnel. The ASQF, known for its pragmatic approach, will ensure that the scheme meets the needs of current method providers, and will ensure a harmonisation route for the certification of assessors world-wide. A new international Governing Board and Advisory Board will be established, under ASQF’s general regulations for Certification Schemes, and will include international representation from Certification Bodies, training bodies, assessors, professional bodies, industry representatives and The SPICE User Group.
Alec Dorling, the SPICE international project manager, convener of the ISO standardisation group, and Director of The SPICE User Group is pleased that ASQF has taken on responsibility for the management of the Scheme. The ASQF is a respected independent organisation. The ASQF certification mark is recognised internationally and provides market confidence in the Scheme.
Bernd Hindel (method park Software AG) and Rudolf van Megen (SQS AG) agree to cooperate closely with ASQF on setting up this International Assessor Certification Scheme. Hindel and van Megen emphases that the software-industry needs such a certificate, developed and maintained by a independent organisation such as the ASQF.
The International Assessor Certification Scheme recognises the specific needs of assessors operating in domains such as space, automotive and medical and will work closely with representatives from these sectors to ensure the Scheme meets their needs.

ASQF
