Class reunion of the software quality community

Once very year for over a decade now hundreds of software developers, engineers, testers and consultants meet at the CONQUEST – the COnference on QUality Engineering in Software Technology” – to discuss the latest developments and innovations in the field of software quality. The conference aims at creating awareness for the necessity of more quality in software development and gradually establishing standards which will ensure a higher reliability for customers.

Connecting the Global Community

With this agenda the conference reached about 350 participants from over 20 countries every year. Apart from many visitors from Europe and the USA more and more experts from threshold countries such as China, Bangladesh or India found their way to the CONQUEST. In 2009 India even was the partner country of the conference. The global networking is an important opportunity for achieving lasting changes in the sector of software quality engineering.

Prominent Support

The CONQUEST received strong support from renowned market leaders from science and industry. It always had high-ranking speakers for its keynotes and sessions. In 2007 for example there were keynotes by the Senior Vice President of SAP, Bernd Leukert or by the Test Architect of Microsoft’s Engineering Excellence Group, BJ Rollison, or Paul Baker, Manager at Motorola as well as Charles Petrie, Professor at the Stanford University. Industry greats such as Tom DeMarco or Tom Gilb added happily o the program of the conference.

Support has also come from politics. Dagmar Wöhrl, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, was the patron of the CONQUEST in 2006 and 2009. 2007 and 2008 Matthias Platzeck, Minister President of Brandenburg, had the patronage of the conference (held in Potsdam then) and in 2010 Stanislav Tillich, Minister President of Saxony, kindly agreed to the patronage when the CONQUEST came to Dresden.

In 2011 there ISQI will not hold the CONQUEST as we organize the 5. WCSQ in Shanghai.
